FORK LIFT TRUCK BEGINNERS
This five day course is suitable for new drivers or drivers with little experience and no certificate.
Why go on this Course?
Operating a Forklift is a specialised skill. Many accidents are caused by untrained drivers operating trucks in ignorance of the special conditions that apply to forklifts.
This course is aimed at individuals new to fork lift truck driving. Certificates are awarded to participants who are successful in the theoretical and practical tests.
A confidential assessment on each operator’s abilities is also provided.
On Completion of the course participants will be able to:
Demonstrate safe operating skills
Carry out an inspection of the forklift truck
List the consequences of taking certain kinds of chances
Refuel/recharge forklifts
Handle different loads at various heights

Practical Training
Introduction to the fork lift truck. Use of controls and instruments. Daily inspection, take-over and maintenance. Starting, stopping and steering. Simple corners and manoeuvring. Operation of hydraulic controls. Weight assessment. Handling pallets. Manoeuvring in confined spaces

This course is based on classroom methods and practical lessons on fork lift trucks
Duration: 5 days
Maximum number of participants: 3 (As per Current HSA Guidelines)
FORK LIFT TRUCK EXPERIENCED
This course is suitable for drivers with experience of driving forklifts and drive on a regular basis, but who don’t already have an operator’s certificate.
A three-day course is also available for operators that have some experience but do not drive on a regular basis.

FORK TRUCK REFRESHER/ON THE JOB ASSESSMENT
This course is designed for drivers already certificated, and refreshes previously taught skills.
On the job assessment follows guidelines in the Code of Practice for safe operation of Fork Lift Trucks.
On completion of this course participants will be able to:

Understand their duties and responsibilities under current Legislation and the Code of Practice for Fork Lift Operation.

Operate a forklift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians

Understand the consequences of taking certain kinds of chances

Load and unload safely
This course will cover both theoretical and practical assessments.
Trainees will be assessed to current Safety Guidelines and standards.
Certificates will be awarded to successful candidates.
This course may also be used to assess new employees, as to the level of their ability to operate a Fork Truck safely.

FORK LIFT TRUCK INSTRUCTOR
This course equips previously certificated Forklift operators to qualify as instructors.
This course is ideal for companies who require their own on-site fork lift truck instructor.
On completion of the course participants will be able to:

Conduct and mark theoretical tests

Issue certificates to operators

Train to current Health & Safety Authority guidelines.

Methods of training
The course is based on classroom methods and practical lessons on Fork Lift Trucks. Participants may be recorded during presentations and are continuously assessed on their level of knowledge and ability in both theory and practical instruction on Fork Lift Trucks.

MOTORISED PALLET TRUCK TRAINING
On completion of this course participants will be able to
